As a key driver of SDGs in Sri Lanka, the Sustainable Development Council continues to empower ministries to align with the 2030 Agenda.

As a key driver in accelerating the implementation of the Sustainable Development Agenda in Sri Lanka, the Sustainable Development Council continues to provide strategic guidance and technical expertise to enhance the contributions of ministries and institutions under the purview of the Ministry.

An awareness program on integrating the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into planning and development processes was held today at the Nila Medura Auditorium. The program was organized by the Human Resources Development Division of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, with the support of the Sustainable Development Council, for public officials of the Ministry.

This program was conducted as part of the annual training initiatives of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, with participation from officers representing various divisions of the Ministry and several institutions under the purview of the Ministry.

During the session, discussions focused on mainstreaming SDGs into the Ministry's development plans, identifying SDG targets relevant to the Ministry’s mandate, and monitoring progress through a data-driven decision-making mechanism. The workshop was facilitated by officers from the Sustainable Development Council.
